Ottawa Valley Waste Management Board Sets 2019 Tipping Fees
LAURENTIAN VALLEY – At their November meeting, the Ottawa Valley Waste Management Board set the Waste Recovery Centre disposal fees for 2019. The new rates come into effect January 1, 2019 and customers will notice changes to those rates when they visit the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre (OVWRC) in the New Year. Sue McCrae, OVWRC General Manager explained some of those changes.

PMFRC Halloween Party - spooky fun for kids
The Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) is usually a warm, safe welcoming place for children to visit, except for one night a year. On Halloween, the South Side Community Centre transforms into a terrifying place where ghosts, goblins and evil mermaids rule.

Hyska’s YIG hosts Halloween Hoopla
On Oct. 27, Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer embraced the spirit of Halloween by throwing a Halloween Hoopla. Staff members set up several games and activities around their pumpkin patch. The spook-tacular event included free pumpkin painting and treats as well as several contests.
