The Petawawa Heritage Village welcomed Christmas early with their annual Christmas in the Village event on December 9.

Visitors could enjoy a number of activities including sleigh rides, decorating cookies at the Leeder house, enjoying hot chocolate and cake at the Molson house, making a Christmas card or playing a game of reindeer toss at the school house, taking a peek at a large collection of electric trains in the newly organized train station, writing a letter to Santa, or, visiting the jolly man in red himself at the Carpenter Shop.

The Canadian Military Wives Choirs Petawawa and the St John’s Lutheran Church Choir provided musical entertainment, and Christmas trees from Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer were for sale on site, with proceeds to the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre.

The event also marked the grand opening of the General Store.
