Hi everyone! Well here we are starting a new year and I am once again here with just a bit of news from the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club.

Yes, our bingo has started up again. COVID protocols are in place and you must be 18 years old or older to play bingo in Ontario. Our Bingo is held at the Petawawa Civic Centre, doors open at 5:30 p.m., early bird games start at 6:30 and regular games start at 7 p.m. We held our first Bingo for the year on January 2, 2022, and we hope we will be able to continue to do so. Please call 613-687-8464 or 613-687-4503 for more bingo information. We will also have information about the Petawawa Civitan Bingo on Facebook. Look us up and see just what we are doing.

We are still looking for volunteers for the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club. I would love to have you come and join me and all the other members of our GREAT Club. Why not give me a call at 613-687-8463, Brian Miner at 613-687-4503, or Darlene Lambert at 613-735-6069?

If you are still looking fruit cakes, you can call me at 613-687-8463. By the way you can make great cookies with this cake, or they can be used as a wedding cake.

At this time I would like to thank, on behalf of the members of the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club, the people who helped in selling our Christmas cakes: Keri Radford at Petawawa ESSO, Bower’s ESSO and Grocery, the Silver Threads Seniors Club and the Petawawa Post Office.

We also want thank both Rona Petawawa and Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer for allowing us to sell cakes at their places of business. Thank you to these kind people for their support over the past years. I also want to thank Civitan Jean Belel’s spouse for selling cakes for me out of her home, all the other club members who helped sell cakes, and Norma Miner for getting the word out on Facebook. This has been a great help to our Club so thank you again for your time.

We held our raffle at our Christmas Bingo on December 19, 2021. First prize winner of the Turkey Hamper was Morris VandenBaar; second prize winner of the Ham Hamper was David Murphy; third prize winner of the oil change, lube and filter, and two gas vouchers was Bob Howell. Proceeds to go towards the wheelchair swing and the Phoenix Centre’s bullying prevention program.

Yes our Bingo is our main fundraiser and we thank all those that have supported us over the years.
That’s all for now, take care and God bless you all.

Thought: Never give up, just do the best you can and all will work out.
