The SPN Provincial Qualifier Co-ed Slo-Pitch Tournament was held during the event over several days, weeding out the best players. June 18 was a lovely day for a game of ball, with many teams hoping to win. John Milwain looks almost surprised as he manages to make it to third base, which was guarded by Johnathan Ring. For the first time ever, the Civic Centre Days held a Beer Festival with five different breweries and one cider maker. Local brewmaster Marc Bru from Square Timber Brewing Company offered up some of his ales and lagers. (Photo by Patricia Leboeuf, Petawawa Post)

The three groups in competition against one another for this year’s Ribfest were Jack the Ribber, Ribs Royale and Railroad Ribs. There is a secret to making delicious barbecued ribs, one that Eli Sherrer from Jack the Ribber did not want to share. (Photo by Patricia Leboeuf, Petawawa Post)

Centre Days and Ribfest brought droves of people to the heart of Petawawa from June 10 to June 19. Neither the rain or the burning blazing sun could prevent the event from being a success. The activities were diverse, interesting and fit for all ages. As always the midway was one of the most popular attractions, but so was the Ribfest, newly inaugurated Beer Fest, live music, games, Giant Book sale, Slo-Pitch Tournament, Lobsterfest, Lawn Tractor Races, tough mudder competition and more.
