On Friday, March 8th, 2019, four members from 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron (THS) graduated from the Fleet Technical Training Flight’s (FTTF) first Chinook CH147F Avionics Systems Type Course of the year.

AVS 1901 students were on course from January 7th to March 8th.

The hard work and effort put forth from these students is remarkable and enabled them to obtain Performance of Maintenance (POM) authorizations on the CH147F Avionics Systems, some within six months of arriving at 450 THS.

These new members of 450 THS will now be fully employed on the Chinook, both at home and abroad and will also help develop other apprentices within the fleet of fifteen CH147F Chinook helicopters.

Each on-aircraft maintenance course identifies an individual who surpasses their peers in more than academics.  Students are assessed for their mechanical aptitude, task leadership and supervision, teamwork and overall attitude as well as their test scores.  For AVS 1901, this award was presented to Aviator (Avr) Richardson.

Congratulations to the successful graduates of AVS 1901, who will no doubt have a positive impact within their new roles.
