Although the Petawawa Catholic Women’s League is not having monthly meetings due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are still somewhat active and hoping to soon organize some Zoom meetings. Hopefully, our CWL Executive is soon going to attempt a Zoom Meeting to review and approve our 2021 Budget.
Our Lenten time began on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17. A Spiritual time for prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
Natalie Tosello has replaced Diane Brown as our CWL Treasurer. Our deep appreciation goes to Diane for her many volunteer hours as Treasurer. She now becomes convener on Organization and Membership of our Council. We are thankful that Julie Mallory remains as our league President.
Our annual Baby Layettes were generously donated to the Pembroke Regional Hospital before Christmas. Again, it was a very successful project in spite of the pandemic. Indeed, we are hoping to find another Covid-friendly project that our CWL can adopt. Ideas are welcome.
CWL Members who have not renewed their membership for 2021 are invited to do so soon. The $25 fee may be placed in an envelope marked “CWL Membership for 2021” and dropped into the Collection Basket at Our Lady of Sorrows Masses. Members of the Executive will take it as well.
The Religious Article Store remains open following the Sunday 10 a.m. Mass in the parish hall. For the time being, items from the store may be purchased by contacting or calling Eva Brushett.
