Quality Inn receives another platinum award

Since they started qualifying for the Choice Hotel Hospitality Awards, Quality Inn and Suites in Petawawa has continuously received the highest accolades.

For the sixth year in a row, owners Hans and Gabriele Feldtanzer are the proud recipient of a Platinum Award. They credit the continuous support and hard work of their staff for this recognition.

“We have such a good team here,” said Gabriele.

“When somebody comes from out of town, he comes here and finds a place that almost feels like home,” Hans added. “That is the most important thing.”

Brendan Gibney, Senior Director Franchise Services at Choice Hotels Canada, agrees. Engaged ownership, strong management and leadership as well as strong staff create a winning combination.

“It really is the people here,” he said.

Out of a score of 10, the hotel received a 9.11 from previous guests with the majority enthusiastically stating they would return and recommend the hotel to others.

There is so much work that goes into the hospitality business, said Gibney. It is a 24/7, 365 days a year business, and everyone must continually strive to be on the top of their game.

“So when you have teams like this that go above and beyond and exceed our expectations and that of our customers, we want to recognize them,” said Gibney.

The Feldtanzers have worked hard to produce a top-notch hotel, adding special lighting, modern amenities, emphasizing their warm breakfast and using tasteful decorations. They are thrilled to receive a platinum award again.

“It feels great because the hotel is already eight years old so you really have to be on the ball to be able to achieve an award like that,” said Gabriele. “It is one thing to get it the first time but another to keep it up for so many years.”
