Black History Month - We Serve
As we go through February and Black History Month (BHM) 2021, I cannot help but to reflect on the events of the previous year and the ongoing pandemic that is claiming the lives of thousands of Canadians across our country and millions of people across the world. The previous year brought into sharp focus our need as a society to unite in order to overcome adversity and further validated the axiom of “united we stand and divided we fall”.

OTTAWA - On Feb. 17, Transition Centre Petawawa began the trial of an initiative to assist members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and their families with transition to civilian life following service to Canada. The initiative was developed at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden, and is now being expanded to other locations.

Government changes COVID-19 School and Child Care Screening Tool
PEMBROKE - Effective immediately, guidelines for the COVID-19 School and Child Care Screening Tool have changed across the province in accordance with provincial guidelines. The Ontario Government is adopting a more rigorous and cautious approach to the provincial screening criteria. This update to the COVID-19 School and Child Care Screening Tool has been made in light of the emergence of COVID-19 variants.

Ontario invests $25 million to support the ongoing widening of Highway 417/17
RENFREW - John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, announced last week that Ontario is moving forward with widening Highway 17 from two lanes to four between Arnprior and Renfrew by investing approximately $25 million in a new interchange at Highway 17 and Calabogie Road.
