Garrison Petawawa Non-Public Property (NPP) Fund receives funding from the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) based on profits through CANEX and SISIP Financial. As a retail and grocery store, CANEX focuses on serving Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and their families while SISIP Financial provides programs and services to help with financial wellness. Garrison Petawawa’s share for fiscal year 2019/2020 was $273,256. The cheque presentation was held on Oct. 30 at the CANEX SuperMart. Much of the money was redistributed to Petawawa-based units as part of Garrison Fund Morale and Welfare Grants. The funding was also used to provide local morale and welfare programs and activities including Garrison Petawawa Family Day, the Winter Family Festival, Iron Warrior, Canada Day fireworks, and Inter-Unit Sports awards. Over the years, both CANEX and SISIP have always been great partners with Garrison Petawawa’s Personnel Support Programs (PSP) in enhancing the quality of life of CAF members and their families. The cheque is also a reminder to all CAF members that these funds are made possible thanks to their patronage at CANEX including CANEX.ca, and the services they subscribe to through SISIP. PSP is grateful to CANEX and SISIP for their contributions in making Garrison Petawawa a great place to live.
