The Third Annual 4th Canadian Division Support Group (4 CDSG) Motorcycle Ride saw about a dozen bikers travel throughout the Ottawa Valley to raise money for the Garrison Petawawa National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC). “It is a great fundraiser and a great day to get out of the office,” said Garrison Petawawa Deputy Commander Lieutenant Colonel Richard Raymond. A total of $220 was raised from the Oct. 4 event and the money will be directed back to the Renfrew County United Way Campaign. Participants traveled a total of 275 km, departing from Garrison Petawawa’s S-111 parking lot and touring Bonnechere Valley, Killaloe, Foymount and Calabogie before making their way back to the Garrison. The annual NDWCC helps fund local charities and distributes money according to need. Many of the organizations that receive Renfrew County United Way funds also benefit military members such as the Boys and Girls Club of Pembroke, the North Renfrew Family Services, the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre and the Robbie Dean Family Counseling Centre.
