The OnTour series completed their summer of music with a stop in Petawawa.
In honour of Canada’s 150th, 24 concerts were held across the province, featuring a variety of Canadian singers and songwriters. The Jim Cuddy Band was the headliner of the evening and attracted about 600 people to Centennial Park on Sept. 17. Jim Cuddy is a well-known Canadian solo artist and lead singer of Blue Rodeo.
“It’s very nice to be here on this beautiful, finally summer night,” said Cuddy to the cheering crowd. He was welcomed to the area by a throng of fans.
Also on the roster were Meghan Patrick and Jessica Mitchell, both rising country music stars.
The free concert series started on June 25; more than 50 singers participated and each stop had a different combination of performers.
The concerts were organized by Ontario’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport with the goal of giving Ontarians the chance to come together and celebrate while embracing the culture of inclusion, innovation and opportunity that the province is known for.
