Well here we in the second week of October and it is so very nice and warm out that you can still go for a nice walk without a heavy coat.
Now here is a bit of news from the Petawawa Greater Petawawa Civitan Club.
On Sunday, October 1 at our bingo we held a cupcake sale. Civitan Marie Arnold baked over 100 cupcakes and a thank you my granddaughter Sheena, she did the icing of every one of them. I also want to thank Civitan Marie Molson and her daughter for the cupcakes they donated for the sale. We raised $135 and all proceeds will go to the War Horse Project for the care of our adopted horse Maggie. The War Horse Project is one way of helping our Veterans and first responders as well as children with special needs. I want to thank everyone who bought the cupcakes and also to those who made a donation for this special project.
As of October 1, the Great Petawawa Civitan Club’s new executive for 2017-2018 are: Civitan Brian Miner - President; Civitan George Hopkins (Hoppy) - Vice President; Civitan Donna Hammel - Secretary; and Civitan Charles (Chuck) Arnold - Treasurer. Directors are Civitans Darlene Lambert, Past President; Marie F.E. Arnold, Past Secretary; Donna Forget; and Joan Ozon.
We are looking forward to a great new year and we are hoping to have a few new members in the upcoming year. If you would like to learn more about Civitan, we invite you to come to one of our meetings. We hold a meeting once a month on the second Wednesday night starting at 7 p.m. and we are located upstairs at the Petawawa Civic Centre.
The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club will soon have their famous fruit cakes for sale once again. I hope to have more information about upcoming events that we will be planning this year.
That’s all for this time, hope to see you soon.
Thought for the week: Let me be of help to someone.
