The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club Bingo is going well and we are getting a few new bingo players who have just moved to our area.

On Oct. 6, the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club held an Awards Night and at that time, Civitan Area Director Cindy Lamorie did the installation of the new executive for 2017-2018: Civitan Brian Miner - President, Civitan George “Hoppy” Hopkins - Vice-President, Civitan Donna Hammel - Secretary, Civitan Charles “Chuck” Arnold - Treasurer. Directors: Civitans Darlene Lambert - past President, Marie F.E. Arnold - past Secretary, Civitan Donna Forget, and Civitan Joan Ozon. We want to thank Civitan Cindy. Civitan Marie Arnold and Civitan Joan Ozon were also presented with the Civitan of the Year pin.

For those of you who would like to know more about Civitan and what we are doing, we hold a meeting on the second Wednesday night of the month starting at 7 p.m., upstairs at the Petawawa Civic Centre. We are planning on having an information night about Civitan and what Civitan is all about and we hope to hold this event at our next meeting. I will have more information about this in the coming weeks. We are planning on holding some other events in the coming months so keep an eye and ear open to what is coming up.

By the way, the club will soon have our famous fruit cakes for sale once again. Did you know that you can make some very special desserts and cookies with our fruit cake? We also have recipes for you and will have them printed out and you can have one when you get a cake if you like. Civitan Marie Arnold can tell you about some of the other desserts that can be made.

That’s all for this time hope to see you soon. God Bless.

Thought for the week: Did I treat someone unfairly?
