This year the Pembroke and Area Toastmasters club celebrates 35 years of helping Pembroke and Area people become better public speakers and leaders.

Using the proven Toastmasters International method and organization, our club has helped many to become more effective and develop their personal and professional lives.

At one point our club boasted over 35 members as the Owner of Wilderness Tours felt so strongly that his staff should develop good communication skills that he signed them all up.

Other members of our club have moved into more advanced positions or new positions directly as a result of the skills they developed in Toastmasters.

Due to the current pandemic, we are holding our meetings on Zoom.  Each week, we learn a new word, hear a joke or story and an educational tip as well as listen to a speech and an evaluation of that speech.

The highlight of many meetings is the Impromptu section known as Table Topics.  This section helps us prepare for those moments when we are put on the spot at work or in a personal conversation.  Members make progress on their personal and educational goals at a meeting that is fun.

We are currently looking for more members.

If you want to learn more about our club and how the program may help you, please contact us.More info can be found at: www.meetup.com/Renfrew-County-Communication-and-Leadership/ as well as pembroke.toastmastersclubs.org/
